Payment information
Premium account fees transaction date
Your Paypal payment will be made within 24 hours from the time you sign up. Please be aware that you will still be charged for that month’s payment even if you decide to close your account before the payment date. For the users who upgraded to premium accounts with paypal before 30 December 2010: Your Paypal payment is scheduled to be made one month after the date you sign up. Please be aware that you will still be charged for that month’s payment even if you decide to close your account before the payment date. You cannot check your payment date through Lang-8’s webpage. Please do so via Paypal’s webpage.
When using Yahoo! Wallet, the payment is made and automatically renewed at the end of the month. Please refer toYahoo!Wallet Help(Japanese) for more details on payment and withdrawal. Please note that although the first month is free when you choose Yahoo!Wallet as your payment source, you will be billed for the month if you decide to close your account during this free period.

When you buy a Premium account gift, payment for the gift is made at the same time.
About emphasizing and setting priority of your journal entries
1. Click on your username at the top right corner of the page, and choose “Premium”
2. Click on the “journals” tab. You can edit premium journal settings here.
*Emphasizing your jourals
If you choose “Emphasize”, all your journals(including all posts made in the past) will be highlighted in blue color.
*Setting journal priority
If you choose “Have priority”, your latest entries will be preferentially shown in the upper part of the “Entries awaiting your corrections” list.
This priority system works only on “Entries awaiting your corrections” liston a user’s individual page. Please note that your journal doesn’t have priority on all Lang-8 pages.
How can I convert my journals into PDF files?
In a detailed page on Journal entries, click on the PDF icon next to the title and you can see the PDF file of that entry. You can also save the PDF File from the shortcut menu which is shown by right-clicking “PDF”.
A PDF-processed file will appear, and you can download it.
My URL settings
1. Click on your username at the top right corner of the page, and choose “Premium”.
2. Click on the “My URL” tab to display settings.
3. Enter your preferred URL in the text box.
You can personalize your own page by setting your username as part of the URL. ( e.g. http://lang-8.com/foo )
The availability of your selected URL will be displayed on the right.
Please note that you cannot have a URL that is already in use by another user.
4. When you see “URL is available” appear on the right of the text box, please click ”Get “.
5. A confirmation page will appear next. Please click “Confirm” if you are satisfied with your selected URL or “Modify” if you want to change it.
6. Once you click “Get the URL”, your URL update is complete.
You can access your “My Home” profile page by entering the URL you’ve set up ( e.g. http://lang-8.com/foo )
